“Oh! I was out for an official meeting.” Or “Oh! I actually had some urgent work!” or maybe… “I have won all my matches till date!” or even… “I don’t lie, ever!”

Men will be men, and their lies shall never end! No matter for how many ages you’ve been together, they will always find a reason to lie. But why… why do men lie? Is it because they are always upto something fishy, or always hiding something or the other from us?

Well, not always!

Most men (and I am talking about the honest ones) lie because they find it difficult to crack through us, women! They are much simple living creatures (mentally I mean, though even physically, they are quite simple!) and they want their life to be simple and so, chose the simplest way to crack through it… lying! Read on further, and you’ll know what this mean…

What’s wrong with it?
Some men just don’t see anything wrong in lying. It’s a part of their life, just like biking or cricket! Their ‘simple’ minds do not understand that a ‘simple’ act of lying can shatter trust and break a relationship.

It’s not important!
Some men invariably lie about petty issues. It has become their habit or their way of life. Sometimes they may lie partially about things or unimportant details of an incident. They feel it is part of their freedom of doing and saying whatever they want, whenever they want!

You wouldn’t understand!
That’s what they are scared of. All the time! They feel that if they tell you the truth, you may complicate things or become upset. So, they take the easy route. They call it ‘white lies’, important for survival of a relationship! They feel you are too sensitive to handle the truth!

Hiding is not lying.
A lot of men hide facts that they feel might hurt or upset you. They do not realize that lnot etting you know the truth is a lying as well.

Lying is temporary.
Most men resort to lying as a temporary solution to problems. They assume that you will come to know the reality with time and things will get better after a while.

A tool for impressing.
This is the most common reason to lie. Plain and simple – to impress you. They may feel that the truth is not good enough or does not hold enough weightage to leave a good impression on you. This may start with small exaggerations and slowly take form of big lies, in an effort to hide the previous exaggerations!

Sometimes situations get unbearable and it really hurts when you discover that the man you love and trust so much, lied to you… but it is also a fact that it is difficult to find a Ram-type man in the world of today. And may be if you do get one, you might not enjoy being with him! So, the best you can do is to give trust a higher priority and demonstrate how much you respect his honesty. Try not to react too violently when he honestly tells you, “I am broke because I spent my earnings on Beer!”
