What is Moringa?

The Moringa oleifera tree is a small tree that is native to India but that grows in many parts of the world. The entire tree is considered edible and it is known for its long twisted pods, from which it derives its name. “Murungai” means “twisted pod” in the many regional languages in India.

Moringa has been valued among Ayurvedic circles for hundreds of years, but it’s presently composed to become the hot superfood of 2018. Nearly every part of the Moringa oleifera, or drumstick tree, is tasty and packed with vitamin C, protein, iron, and calcium. If you can’t get your hands on the fresh greens yet – not to worry – you can willingly take a supplement or hurl a powdered version into a smoothie to harvest its benefits. It is found that Moringa leaves contain more than seven times the vitamin C of oranges, four times the vitamin A of carrots, four times the calcium of cow’s milk, and three times the potassium of bananas. The rich amino acid, vitamin, and mineral profile of Moringa leaves make them a great natural energy booster, despite the fact that they are caffeine-free.
