It is rightly said that health is wealth. Do you think you are healthy? If you think you are, what parameters you actually looked into before deciding that you are healthy? Healthy means being fit not only physically but also mentally. The emotions that we portray come from within us and if we are happy with our individual existence in both in physical and mental aspect then we can consider ourselves as healthy.
In 1986, the WHO clarified that health is: “A resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities.” This means that health is a store to support an individual’s function in wider society. A healthful lifestyle provides the means to lead a full life.
Being healthy comes with the thought of being satisfied with your thoughts and your being self. It is mandatory that both physical and mental aspects are taken into account before making a declaration of being healthy. It also depends on the ability to: enjoy life, bounce back after difficult experiences, achieve balance, adapt to adversity, feel safe and secure and achieve your potential.
To get a deeper meaning, Physical and mental health are linked. If continual illness affects a person’s ability to complete their regular tasks, this may lead to depression and stress. It is important to approach “health” as a whole, rather than in its different types.
So are you healthy? If not then just take a note on what’s keeping you away from being healthy.
