We all know that the telecommunication market is now being dominated by Jio. We as a customer are thrilled with the news of an extension of Jio’s free offer that helps us to avail unlimited calls and internet usage for free. Well, this special offer extension which was supposed to be closed by the end of March this year has got extended until 15th of April and this change in the policy of Jio is not going well with its competitors like Airtel and Vodafone.

India’s leading telecom network provider Airtel is not happy with the delay by Reliance Jio in complying with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) order to withdraw its Summer Surprise offer. The former has an agenda to promote free calls and internet service for a duration of six months but it got increased for more 15 days is making companies like Airtel unhappy with the move.

With no effective change in the offer availability period, Jio, the newest network operator in India, gets the amount of time to attract new customers as originally conceived by it.

Airtel is not happy with this situation. “We are surprised that Reliance Jio is openly continuing with its Summer Special offer despite the same being declared ab initio void by the TRAI,” a Bharti Airtel spokesperson told the media corner. “In addition, Reliance Jio is running an aggressive campaign via social media and on-ground as well, encouraging customers and channel partners to subscribe and recharge under the scheme.”

As per Jio statistics, it has covered over 72 million Prime customers who will be spending money to use its phone and broadband service plans. This extension of days will surely help Jio to cover more possible customers under its belt. Jio’s aggressive marketing might possibly give the company close to 100 million paid subscribers.
