This year, Chaitra Navratri falls between March 25 and April 2. Chaitra Navratri symbols the start of the new year of Hindu calendar and is perceived with much fanfare in north India. During the nine days, devotees offer prayers to nine incarnations of Goddess Durga and observe fast.

During the pandemic situation currently around the nation, devotes prayed for good health this Durga Ashtami. This year, Durga Ashtami is celebrated on April 1. On this day, Sandhi puja is done at a point of time when Ashtami tithi ends and Navmi tithi starts. This puja has an unusual implication during the festival of Navratri. So, sandhi puja is done at that time when, as per the tithi, Ashtami ends and Navami begins. It is very important for those who have fasted throughout Navratri.

This time of the year is very crucial for the world and India, when people are suffering from deadly Coronavirus across the globe. We as Indians pray and hope that this epidemic gets over soon and people can return back to their usual workings. We all worship Goddess Durga to give us inner strength in this crucial time when mankind needs the blessing and hope to survive.
