In this auspicious day when we are celebrating the presence of women’s in our society and in our lives, here there are 5 inspiring women from our generation we can recall to refresh the understanding of woman power.
Anshu Jamsenpa: Anshu is literally the first woman to climb the Mount Everest two times in five days in May. While the 37-year-old is awaiting confirmation from the world record books, her story is even more impressive when you know that she has climbed Mt Everest four times.
Purvi Gupta: The strong hearted girl is all set to leave on a mission to Antarctica in February 2018. She is the only Indian among the 80-women strong crew who will set about on the journey to impart critical science disciplines and bringing global awareness to the lack of women in leadership positions.
Tanushree Pareek: Tanushree Pareek became the first woman combat officer to be commissioned in the Border Security Force. She is an inspiration to many people across the globe and the nation.
Ridhima Pandey: Ridhima Pandey, a nine-year-old from Uttarakhand, who prosecuted the government in April for worsening to implement green laws. She filed a legal case with the National Green Tribunal, appealing that the Centre be directed to “take effective, science-based action to reduce and minimize the adverse impacts of climate change. She is one heck of a girl to know her path to being powerful and strong.
Indira Banerjee: Indira Banerjee was appointed as the chief justice of the Madras HC. She joined the Bombay HC’s Justice Manjula Chellur, Delhi HC’s Justice G Rohini and Calcutta HC’s acting Chief Justice Nishita Nirmal Mhatre.
