We don’t think so..

Today UPA govt finally bowed down to intense pressure from within and outside the government and announced the suspension of its decision to allow FDI in retail. 

We strongly believe that there is no necessity for FDI in retail. What does Walmart do in China. Almost all the merchandise they sell are made in China. The same thing will happen in India too. They will buy our goods and sell to us and repatriate the profits in foreign exchange.

Hands chinese govt is tied as China exports all the stuff sold in Walmart in US. But very few stuff from India is sold in US. So we shouldn’t bow down to pressure from US.

Rather than allowing FDI in retail, what we should do is try to develop indigenous retail chains. If Dabbawalas in Mumbai can manage to deliver 200,000 lunch box so efficiently, why can’t we develop efficient supply chain and infrastructure to support the booming retail industry in India. After all we have built our own Agni missile and we have smart Engineers and Architects.
