Anyone who’s ever tried to lose weight knows what a plateau is. Any weight loss program starts with some encouraging results but after a while it hits the plateau. You keep doing whatever seemed to work, but your weight refuses to budge. You may even see small gains on the scale! So how does one beat this dreaded plateau?
How to Beat the Weight Loss Plateau
Reduce Your Carb Intake. You could eliminate carbs for 3 days. Sometimes you could practice intermittent fasting for a week. You could skip a meal for a week. You could skip carbs at dinner for a week. Basically, you can try anything at all and see what works for you!
The next option is to change the way you exercise. Add a different style of workout to your routine. If you do cardio, add in weight training. If you do weights, add in some dance moves. If you dance, start doing yoga too. Alter your workout routine, switch to a different time, or ramp up the intensity. Your body craves challenge, so keep challenging it.
Increase your protein intake. High protein diet helps in tackling plateaus and losing weight.
Reduce stress and get adequate sleep every day. Avoid late night snacking or staying up late. Follow healthy habits and give adequate rest to your body and mind.
