In this study carried out by scientists in China, it was found that thigh circumference of more than 55 cm in men and more than 54 cm in women is linked with better heart health and lower blood pressure. On the other hand, a thigh circumference of lower than 51 cm in men and ower than 50 cm in women is linked with higher incidence of hypertension and poorer heart health.
It is believed that the higher mass of fat and muscle on thighs releases certain substances that keep the blood pressure in check.
