As the number of COVID cases continue to surge, Maharashtra CM hints at another lockdown. Maharashtra has witnessed 6 lakh new cases this month, along with 2100 deaths due to COVID. This is a 32.21 percent jump in number of new cases. The CM has given repeated warning to the people, advising them to follow rules and guidelines. But the alarming rise in number of new cases clearly proves that people have not taken these warnings seriously!
So now the CM has no option but to consider a full lockdown for the state. It is expected that new SOPs will be announced by the beginning of April. It is expected that the government will try to avoid a full lockdown. So they will first bring in stricter restrictions. If these restrictions do not yield the expected result, the government will then impose a lockdown in the state.
