Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death has brough the issue of mental health into limelight. We have witnessed many young and successful actors ending their own life this year. What makes people take such an extreme step? What makes them throw away the precious gift of life, without any thought for the heartbroken friends and family they leave behind?

Poor mental health is the main culprit. Depression and anxiety can lead people to take such extreme steps. This is why it is important to talk about mental health and to know exactly how healthy or unhealthy you are in that department. 

We all have our ups and downs throughout life. Bad incidents and disappointments affect everyone. A broken relationship, loss of a loved one, disappointment in career etc are a few examples of what may cause one to have feelings of sadness and anxiety for an extended period of time. But is this depression? If you are not sure whether you suffer from depression or are just having a bad day, here’s more information about this. If you feel sad or upset and are able to pinpoint exactly why, it is not likely to be depression. If this mood does not last longer than a few days, it is not likely to be depression. Depression is a state of mind that can go on for months or even years. On the outside, you may seem to be fine socially and even at work. But inside you feel depressed and are unable to shake it off. Waking up and getting on with your day seems like a difficult chore every day. This is depression.
