We hear of a new diet every few weeks these days. One of the latest diets that is trending these days is the 5 Bite Diet. It is said to give excellent results and there are no restrictions on what you can eat. Sounds too good to be true? It probably is!

What is the 5 Bite Diet?

This is an extremely restrictive diet that aims to cut your calorie intake drastically. There is no restriction on what you can eat. But there is a restriction on how much. The diet requires you to give up breakfast completely. All you are allowed is black coffee. For lunch, you can eat anything you enjoy. But you are allowed to eat only 5 bites of it. Similarly, you can eat anything you fancy for dinner, but no more than 5 bites in all. You are also allowed to eat 2 mid-meal snacks, but no more than 1-2 bites each.

As you can see, this will reduce your calorie intake to a very small percentage of what you normally eat. This diet is supposed to mimic the diet of someone who has had gastric bypass surgery. You will have to supplement your diet with Omega 3 and a multivitamin.

Does this diet work? Yes and No. It does work because the calorie reduction is extreme and you begin to lose weight quickly. But ‘No’ because it is very dificult to stick with this diet for more than a couple of days. What’s more, it is not even recommended to do so. This extreme reduction in calorie intake can be very dangerous for your health, so your doctor would never recommend this diet for you.

You would achieve more sustainable results by following a diet plan that is easy to stick to and combining it with regular exercise.
