When we met the actress recently, and asked her why she had turned down the offers in the past, she said, “John had offered me films, but I wanted to do a comedy film with him before exploring any other genre. He was so funny and cute in Dostana. The film was so easy on the eyes and senses. I wanted to experience that with him, and thankfully, our first outing together did turn out to be a comedy. While working together, I realised that he’s child-like. He wanted to go over the lines repeatedly before shooting. Looking at his enthusiasm, I was game for it, too. I could understand where he came from. He is great at the serious stuff that he has been doing, but this was something he hadn’t explored in a while, and so, he didn’t want to go wrong. He was so excited. It was one of my best experiences on a film set. He rehearsed the dance moves many times and with a lot of intensity before we shot the last song for the film. I don’t think we’ve ever danced so much.”

When we asked if Ileana got a glimpse of John’s health-conscious side during the shoot of the film, she said, “Yes, John is quite health conscious, but he’s nothing like the stories I had heard about him.

I was told he is a fitness freak; he will snatch chocolate from your hands if he ever finds one, and will not let you have sugar because he doesn’t indulge in it himself. But nothing like that happened. In fact, he was chilled out. While shooting in London, I would often bring lots of goodies to the set for all of us. He didn’t badger us to put it away; he would be like, ‘I wish I could eat one of them’. He restrains himself a lot.”
