As per the report, team India captain Virat Kohli has turned down a multi-crore offer of endorsing a soft-drink company.

The Delhi batsman had earlier this year, said that he did not desire to endorse brands just for the sake of money.
 

“When I started my fitness turnaround, it was more of a lifestyle thing initially. If something goes away from that, I would not want to be a part of that or be promoting that,” Kohli had quoted to CNN-IBN.

“If I myself won’t consume such things, I won’t urge others to consume it just because I’m getting money out of it,” he had added.

Kohli has endorsed several companies, including MRF Tyres, Boost, Puma sports gear, Audi, Pepsi among few others.

Around two decades back, Indian badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, who also avoids himself from consuming soft drinks, had turned down a similar lucrative offer.

Gopichand had also said he, however, did not stop shuttlers like Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and Parupalli Kashyap from endorsing any soft drink brand, but insisted them to not consume those drinks.
