If the latest reports are anything to go by, the actress will now be slipping into Rupa Singh's shoes who is a horse jockey
Taapsee Pannu is reaching new heights and how! The actress is delivering some amazing performance one after another and we're in complete awe of her.
After sending chills down our spines in Game Over, seems like Taapsee is now all set to make her fans cheer for her as it is said the 32-year-old actress will be slipping into Rupa Singh's shoes. After there were reports of Taapsee starring in Mithali Raj biopic who is an Indian women's cricket team skipper, today, we hear that now she will be also starring in this biopic.
According to a leading daily, a source said, "Taapsee has been approached by her Naam Shabana director Shivam Nair for one movie he's been planning for some time.
It's based on the life of India's first female horse jockey Rupa Singh. Shivam has got the rights to her life and is currently working on the script. He has bounced the idea off to Taapsee who has shown interest. But a bound script is yet to be locked and narration is pending. But it's an inspirational story about a woman in a profession that's hugely considered a man's world. Similarly, Taapsee has also maintained her dignity and power in a rather patriarchial set up that we have in the industry. So she completely suits the bill."
Well, if we may recall, Taapsee gave a befitting reply to a troller who asked director Anubhav Sinha to replace her from his next because she doesn't know how to act.
To which she smartly replied saying, "But ek kaam karo, agli wali ke liye rok lo kyunki shayad woh bhi main lock karva lu jald hi. #TryAgain" So kahi wo film ye toh nahi. Well, you never know! For now, all we have to do is wait for the official announcement from both the parties.
For now, Pannu has some interesting films lined up including Mission Mangal.
The trailer for the same was also released recently. Next, is Saand Ki Aankh where she will be seen with Bhumi Pednekar, one with Anubhav Sinha's Thappad and Anurag Kashyap's next directorial film.
