Taapsee Pannu on spat with Rangoli Chandel: I don't invest my time and effort into something as cheap & nasty
Taapsee Pannu is currently busy gearing up for her upcoming films, the promos of which have left her fans excited.
She will be seen working alongside Bhumi Pednekar in the biopic drama Saand Ki Aankh which is based on the life of sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar. Taapsee will also share the big screen with Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya and Sonakshi Sinha in Mission Mangal, which is slated to release on 15th August.
Recently, the actress who is pretty active on social media, had taken to Twitter to praise the trailer of Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut starrer Judgementall Hai Kya.
She had written: “This is so cool!!!! Always had high expectations out of this one n this looks so worth it ! #JudgementallHaiKya.” While most fans thought it was a nice gesture, Rangoli Chandel felt otherwise as her sister’s name was not mentioned in the tweet. She ended up calling Taapsee a ‘sasti copy of Kangana Ranaut’.
In an interview with India Today, Taapsee was asked about the ugly spat.
The actress replied, “I don't think it was an ugly spat at all from my side. I don't invest my time and effort into something as cheap and nasty. I don't have that kind of a vocabulary. I don't believe in getting hurt by things which don't matter. If it comes from my friends and family, then I get affected. But if anyone randomly, with a blue tick or no blue tick, is saying nonsense, I don't really react to it or get affected by it. It just sounds funny to me because if someone is investing time and effort in me, that means I matter. But I am not ready to waste time and effort on it.”
She went on to add, “If you think I am a copy of Kangana as an actor, I think it is a compliment, because she is a really good actor. I don't really think I have tried to imitate her or I have done the kind of films she has done.
Our filmography is very different. Yes, we might have done strong female characters, but the kind of films we have done is very different. I don't know what would invite that kind of a comment from anyone. But yes, since she says she is the highest-earning actress, by that means, I am a cheaper version. I don't get paid that much.”
