Taapsee Pannu reveals an interesting story behind her name
Taapsee Pannu is arguably one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood.
She rose to popularity in Telugu and Tamil cinema, and has steadily proved that she can deliver a good performance across genres — be it a serious character alongside Amitabh Bachchan in 'Pink' (2016), playing to the gallery in the rom-com 'Judwaa 2' (2017), and or whether its a action film like 'Baby'. The diva is also known for reckless interviews and apart from her film and performance. And recently, the diva revealed something about her numerology influenced name and how her name is actually spelled as given by her parents.
Taapsee Pannu is the name that the actress herself adjusted it to but her father gave her name the spelling of T-A-P-A-S-E-E Pannu.
It is how her name is written on her passport and in her school records, which her teachers used to feel difficult to figure out how to pronounce while taking the attendance. Reportedly, the diva said that her father did this to her name which was supposed to be Tapsi as her name should have two additional letters, one A and one S. So he made it Tapasee which the actress shuffled to make it look less weird for the films.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Taapsee’s latest release is 'Game Over', which has turned out to be a decent box-office performer.
The psychological thriller, originally made in Tamil, has collected over Rs 10 crore in its nine-day run in cinemas. The positive reviews and word of mouth have played a crucial role in the film’s success.
