The actor loves hip-hop and was delighted to take up the microphone for the first time. Sidharth Malhotra lent his voice to the hip-hop party song 'Bandook meri Laila' featuring Haryanvi lyrics.
The song was recorded at Shankar Mahadevan's suburban studio with composer-singer duo Sachin- Jigar on Thursday.
Sidharth Malhotra completed the recording in just three hours. Talking about Sidharth's singing experience Vayu, who penned the lyrics said, "He was superb, like a professional rapper." Giving more insights into the song he further added, "The song is all about fun and reflects the film's overall vibe."
The composer duo Sachin and Jigar had observed the actor's voice and found it perfect for the rap.
Jigar revealed, "He has a great baritone, which is rare in actors. We asked him what kind of music he likes and he said hip hop.Eminem is his favourite rapper. When we asked him to rap for the track, he immediately said yes. It's a fun song that goes along the lines of, `A gun is like my girlfriend and my girlfriend's as hot as a gun', which is in sync with Sid's character".
The idea of adding a Haryanvi touch to the song was the brain of the director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. since they wanted to add 'masala' to the track.
"They are known for their irreverent style and the song compliments it", said Vayu. 'A Gentleman: Sundar Susheel Risky' revolves around the mistaken identity of the Sundar and Susheel Gaurav and the Risky Rishi. The action comedy also features Jacqueline Fernandez as Kavya, who would take up the action avatar for the first time.
