Shiney Ahuja’s controversial life gets a Bollywood biopic?
Shiney Ahuja, who is remembered for his performance in films like Gangster, Woh Lamhe, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Life In A... Metro, has attracted a biopic on his controversial life.
The actor was accused of rape by his 18-year-old maid in 2009, which landed him a sentence to seven years in prison. Shiney Ahuja is out on bail since 2011 and a biopic is reportedly in the works by filmmaker Kumar Mangat. While Kumar Mangat has denied the probability, the refusal is being reported as a mere distraction tactic. “The producer has not got Shiney Ahuja’s consent to make the film. He is, therefore, keeping it under wraps,” revealed a source.
Shiney marked his Bollywood debut with Sudhir Mishra's Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and the rape controversy brought his career to a standstill.
After the controversial episode, Shiney made his way back into films with Anees Bazmee’s multi-starrer Welcome Back, in 2015. Shiney shared the frame with stars like John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Naseeruddin Shah and Shruti Haasan in Welcome Back. Despite being a money-spinner, the film did little for Shiney’s career.
