Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha opposes release of Padmavati
The troubles for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati seems to be endless, after the Karni Sena and Kshatriya groups, Brahmin outfit Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha has opposed the release of the movie.
While these peoples create problems for the movie release, on the other hand, Bollywood support SLB, saying don’t judge any film without watching it.
As per the report, In a statement, Suresh Mishra, state president of Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha said that they will not tolerate "distortion" of historical facts at any cost.
As per a leading daily, Mishra said, "As per the feelings of the general public, screening of this movie should be stopped otherwise the Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha will oppose this movie."
He further stated, "They (Bhansali's team) are trying to defame Padmavati by distorting historical facts. No one can tolerate this."
Leaders of these groups recently demanded pre-release screenings of the film, so they could arrive at a judgment on the film’s actual content. They allege that the historical movie distorts certain facts, especially Padmavati’s relationship with Khilji.
A source says, The Sri Rajput Karni Sena with the help of other organisations plans to organise a big rally in Gandhinagar in Gujarat on November 12 against Bhansali's upcoming period drama.
This film stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Maha Rawal Ratan Singh, and SLB's magnum opus Padmavati is scheduled to release on November 30 in selected countries and on December 1 worldwide.
