The record was previously held by master blaster (Sachin Tendulkar)who had scored 152 runs in 151 balls against Namibia in the 2003 World Cup. Kohli broke Sachin's record after completing his 34th ODI hundred.Tendulkar had predicted that either Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma will go onto break his record of 100 centuries.

He made the prediction in 2012, during a lavish bash thrown by industrialist and his IPL team Mumbai Indians' owner Mukesh Ambani to felicitate Tendulkar for completing 100 international tons.
