Many daily wage workers and poor people have been stranded and left without jobs ever since the nationwide lockdown began due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Therefore to help them all Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the relief fund PM Cares, several people have stepped up and come forward to help the needy.
Akshay Kumar, who was the first celeb to come out in open and contribute to the CARES fund with a donation of Rs 25 crores.
Whereas Salman Khan will be bearing the expenses of 25,000 film workers along with his personal and company staff. Since then several other celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan and others have also contributed.
Joining the bandwagon is 'Sooryavanshi' director Rohit Shetty, who has donated Rs 51 lakhs to FWICE to help daily wage film workers.
FWICE has been leading the fight against corona to help its worker-members during the downtime. Most of the junior artistes, stunt artistes, light men, spot boys etc. work on daily wages. FWICE is making sure that monetary help that the association receives is utilised in providing groceries and other necessary facilities to its members.
Shetty, who is known for his action-adventure films, is always available for his stunt artists.
