Rakesh Sharma biopic: After Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao also in the running to replace SRK
Ever since news of Shah Rukh Khan turning down the Rakesh Sharma biopic were reported, the makers of show began hunting for someone to fill in the huge expectations that were left behind by King Khan.
According to an entertainment portal, URI star Vicky Kaushal is being considered to essay the role of Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma on whose life the film is based. However, a new report now suggests that not only Vicky Kaushal, but the makers of the film are also considering Newton actor Rajkummar Rao for the role.
According to a report in BollywoodLife, a reliable source close to the development has revealed that Rajkummar Rao is another name in the running for the lead role in the film titled Saare Jahaan Se Achha.
The source told BL, "The character demands a performer who can pull it off very well. Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao both have what it takes to play this character." While it may be too soon place our bets on anyone, we are definitely excited to see who will end up bagging the coveted role.
Shah Rukh Khan reportedly took the decision of not going ahead with the film after Zero bombed at the box office.
It was reported that King Khan is reconsidering his decision of working in the biopic based on the life of Rakesh Sharma titled Saare Jahan Se Achha as he wanted to be extra cautious in his choice of films after Zero's box office collections.
