Interestingly, Vikramaditya Motwane’s 'Trapped' starring Rajkummar Rao was also put forward for the National Film Awards in 2016 itself, but unfortunately, it didn’t make it to any category at the prestigious award function.

The film was a survival-drama-thriller about a guy named Shaurya, played by Rajkummar Rao, who becomes trapped in his own home at a high rise building with no escape route.

The film received its world premiere at the 18th Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival last year and received a standing ovation.

Well, maybe this is the reason Rao was looking forward to the film sweeping awards at the National Film Award function.It made it to the big screens on March 17. Though the film did deserve accolades, it doesn't matter, better luck next time Rajkummar!
