Parineeti Chopra shares what triggered her to take a sabbatical from films and lose weight
Parineeti Chopra's appearance on various chat shows has proven time and again that she is one of the most fun loving actresses in the industry.
Almost like a buddy to most of her co-stars, the actress recently appeared on a chat show hosted by Anaita Shroff Adajania and revealed a thing or two about her co-stars. Apart from the revelations, Parineeti also spoke at length about her sabbatical from films and why she felt the need to lose weight.
Speaking to Anaita, Parineeti revealed that she took a sabbatical for more than year after taking a hard look at a picture of herself.
"I was too fat. I had started looking really bad," she said. Turns out, it was during Kill Dill's release and its eventual failure at the box office in 2014 that led Parineeti to begin her fitness journey. "One day I saw a picture of myself and I got really scared. I looked at myself and I didn't recognise myself. This is not a 26-year-old girl. I have no right to look like this, especially if I am an actress. And at that time, one film of mine had flopped also. So it just kind of triggered it. I was like, 'Okay, this is the right time to take a break. I am not going to shoot anything for six months. I am going to work on myself and just recalibrate'," the actress said.
Parineeti also revealed that at the time she was setting up her new home and decided to concentrate on just two things: Working out and doing up her home.
Well, kudos to Parineeti for speaking about her not-so great phase candidly. She will next be seen in Jabriya Jodi alongside Sidharth Malhotra.
