Neha Dhupia remembers Irrfan with a series of pictures
Neha Dhupia was among the many names that paid tributes to Irrfan Khan on his 54th birth anniversary on January 7.
The actress remembered her co-star of films like 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' ('QQS'), 'Hindi Medium' and 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns' with a series of pictures that seemed to have been shot on the set of 'QSS'.
In a post accompanying the pictures, she wrote: "Always loved ... never forgotten ... #irrfankhan."
When Irrfan passed away on April 29 due to cancer, Neha had written a heartfelt post on him. She wrote: "Still can’t believe you have gone ... this has got to be the lowest of the lows... spent last night watching the work we did together, was a blessing to have spent time with you on a set. My heart is still so full after seeing these images ... thank you for your brilliance, your patience, your encouragement, your craft and most importantly the laughs ... whenever you are Irrfan I hope you are in a less painful place... #gonetoosoon". The actress even shared pictures of murals of Irrfan that she came across in the by-lanes of Bandra.
From Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Anushka Sharma to Ayushmann Khurrana, Vijay Varma and the many filmmakers, including Mahesh Bhatt paid tributes to Irrfan, who reportedly did not celebrate birthdays.
In an interview with Bombay Times, filmmaker, writer and actor Tigmanshu Dhulia, who shared a special bond with the actor, recalled, “Both Irrfan and I don’t remember birthdays easily. Naa usko yaad rehta tha na mujhe. I don’t know how I feel and how I should feel right now. It’s weird. Aaj Irrfan ka birthday hai and he is not here. It feels strange that I'll never be able to wish him again. There is a void that I realise will now be a part of our lives for as long as we live."
