The 60-year-old actress was roped in to play the role of Akshay Kumar's mother in Rohit Shetty's much-anticipated film, 'Sooryavanshi'.
Yesterday, there was a news that, Neena Gupta walked out from Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Sooryavanshi', because her track was not fitting seamlessly in the storyline.
Quintessential actress Neena Gupta grabbed everyone's attention with her 'frock ka shock' post on social media. While she has been setting the internet on fire with her quirky captions and unmissable pictures, she recently grabbed everyone's notice but this time due to professional issues.
While the announcement of Neena coming on-board was made earlier this year, recent reports making rounds on the internet had suggested that she had backed out from the film.
The report had further suggested that the senior actress had parted ways since the role didn’t fit the storyline. Looks like it wasn't Neena but the makers who felt that her role wasn't working out. Talking about it, she accepted the news of her not being a part of 'Sooryavanshi' but at the same time Neena also revealed that it was the makers who felt that her character wasn't working so they removed it.
Neena had shot for a few days but when director Shetty realized that her part didn’t fit in the narrative, she was then informed that her character would be modified.
As the film is about Akshay and Katrina Kaif, Neena understood Rohit’s difficulty and chose to walk out of the film. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will also be seen making a special appearance in 'Sooryavanshi' which is all slated to release on 27th March next year.
