On the eve of Independence, Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal and John Abraham starrer Batla House were released. Both the movies have minted good sum with Mission Mangal having greater numbers than Batla House.
For the unversed, on the day one, the collection was Rs 28.50 crore nett and the same more than Akshay Kumar's Gold which was released last year on Independence day.
Speaking of the day 2 collections, Mission Mangal, as per Box Office India, is going super strong and collected Rs 16-17 crore nett as per early estimates. The movie witnessed a drop of 40%.
So, the two-day numbers stand at 45 crore nett and it will witness upward momentum for coming two days.
The BOI report stated, "The film is fantastic in Mumbai, Mysore and West Bengal and even at this early stage it can be said with confidence that it will emerge the highest Akshay Kumar grosser in these markets, West Bengal and Mysore are practically certainties."
On the other hand, the Batla House did better than expected. The early prediction numbers were Rs 10 crore, however, the movie raked in Rs 14.50 crore nett.
Speaking of Batla house' second-day collection, John starrer collected Rs 7-7.50 crore nett and the movie witnessed a 50% drop which is not bad. So, the two day total stands at 21 crore nett plus. As per BOI, the best collections are from Delhi / UP.
