Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's Mental Hai Kya renamed to Judgemental Hai Kya
Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's Mental Hai Kya has been in the news for quite some time now.
Ever since the posters were released, there has been opposition to its name owing to the sensitivity that the title holds. A day back, Kangana met for a censor board meeting and post that, she confirmed that the movie will be getting a new name, and they are happy to comply with it, however, the movie has been passed without any cuts and they were thrilled to watch it.
Now, according to the latest development, the movie has gotten its new name after all.
The movie has gotten a green light from the board in the presence of Ekta Kapoor's father Jeetendra and Kangana. The movie has now been renamed to Judgemental Hai Kya and the trailer will be releasing in the week to come.
A source told Mid-day that the meeting went on for six hours despite Prasoon Joshi's absence and while the name has been changed, it has also been decided the several places with the usage of 'mental' will be muted.
Balaji spokesperson confirmed the reports to Mid-day and further added how considering the sensitivity attached to the issue of mental health and their intention to not offend anyone, the decision to change the movie has been taken and the film has gotten a U/A certificate with minor changes. Now that all is set, the movie will be releasing on July 26, 2019, as scheduled.
