TikTok star Johnny Dada aka Ashwani Kumar murdering a flight attendant he was obsessed with, has once again brought the limelight back on Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Kabir Singh’.

He was known for uploading angry villain clips on the social media app, one of which was a line from ‘Kabir Singh’, “Jo mera nahi ho saka use kisi aur ke honeka mauka nahi dunga’. He was reportedly inspired from the film and shared several pictures of Shahid’s character from the film on social media.
 

Reacting to the same, ‘Kabir Singh’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga said that he felt sorry for the victim and her family.

He stated that as filmmakers they are responsible for their work and need to consider the repercussions it might lead to, but also added that his films have never endorsed killing or murder. While ‘Kabir Singh’ went on to earn big figures at the box office, the film also faced criticism for glorifying a man with a destructive and obsessive attitude.

Sandeep further defended that Shahid’s character in the film was self-destructive and did more harm to himself than others.

'Kabir Singh' was a remake of Telugu hit 'Arjun Reddy', which was also helmed by Sandeep. Kiara Advani was seen as the female lead in the film which hit the screens on June 21.
