Kabir Singh has easily become one of the top grossing films of 2019. Rising rapidly to the top, the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer raked in big money in the first few days and crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in the first four days.
Now, almost a week later the film has had a great run at the box office.
The drama flick, written and directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, has largely been loved by the audiences while a section has called out the film for its misogynistic approach.
On day 7, Thursday, Kabir Singh witnessed its first noticeable fall and it may be because of the India-West Indies cricket world cup match.
The collections on Thursday were the least so far as the film managed to rake in Rs 13.25 crore. Unlike other weekdays, wherein the collections were Rs 15 crore and plus. According to a report in Box Office India, the total collection of Kabir Singh now stands at Rs 133 crore nett making it the third highest non-holiday first week of all time after Bahubali: The Conclusion and Sanju. The second Friday box office collection will determine whether it will become the biggest blockbuster. Kabir Singh is now inching towards Rs 150 crore.
Kabir Singh is the remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy which stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey.
The film is based on medical students Preeti and Kabir’s love story.
