Despite India's World Cup cricket match on Sunday against England, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh remained unshaken on its second Sunday at the domestic box office.
The film had a record opening and since its release on 21 June, the film has been smashing records at the box office.
After a phenomenal first week, Kabir Singh's numbers did not drop drastically and the film continued to maintain its stronghold. However, reports suggest that if India was not scheduled to play against England, the box office collection could have been slightly higher.
On its second Sunday, June 30, Kabir Singh collected around Rs 17.75 crore nett, reported Box Office India.
With Sunday's collections, the total has now reached to a staggering Rs 179 crore nett in just ten days. With this huge figure, Kabir Singh will definitely be crossing Rs 200 crore in no time.
Directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, the film has also given stiff competition to Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Article 15 which had a decent opening weekend.
Playing a character which dominantly portrays anger and violence, Shahid Kapoor has been winning praises from all quarters for his performance. Kiara Advani, who plays his love interest, is also not far behind as the actress has left the audiences with an impressive onscreen performance. The box office revenue has now put Kabir Singh as the third highest grosser of this year. The report also suggests that if this trend continues, Kabir Singh will become the highest grosser of 2019 soon.
