Fresh out of a long break post the phenomenal success of ‘Kabir Singh’, actor Shahid Kapoor has begun preparing hard for his upcoming Hindi remake of Telegu film ‘Jersey’. To get into character for this sports flick, the star has started training hard to perfect his cricketing skills before he takes over the pitch.

Talking about the film, Shahid said in a statement to IANS, "It took me some time to decide what to do next after 'Kabir Singh'. But the minute I saw 'Jersey', I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderfully inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply."

It is only a matter of weeks before the film's shoot commences in Chandigarh later this month. ‘Jersey’ that will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri who helmed the original, revolves around the life of a cricketer showcasing the struggles and failures he faces while trying to make it to the Indian cricket team. The film is scheduled to release on August 28, 2020.
