Times Now has reported that Jail DGP Rishiraj Singh has been quoted as saying in a report that he believes Sridevi's death was not an accident. According to the report published on the Times Now website on July 11, 6:45 pm, the DGP has been quoted saying there is "circumstantial evidence" to prove otherwise.
Crediting the newspaper, Kerala Kaumudi, in their report, the website reported that Rishiraj Singh alleged that the actress’ death was not an accident, but a murder.
The DGP penned a column in Kerala Kaumudi newspaper making the claim that his late friend, Dr. Umadathan, who carried out Sridevi's autopsy, believed that Sridevi "would not drown" in one-foot water in a bathtub "without (being) pushing by somebody (SIC)".
Jail DGP's article in the newspaper read, "My friend told me that the death might have been a murder.
When I asked him out of curiosity over the death, Dr. Umadathan pointed out several circumstantial evidence to prove that the actress' death was not accidental. According to Dr. Umadathan, ‘Even if she drank too much, she would not drown in one-foot deep water in a bathtub'. Without pushing by somebody, a person's legs or head could not drown in one-foot water in the bathtub."
Sridevi's untimely and unfortunate demise on February 24, 2018, had shocked her fans and Bollywood, and left her family shattered.
The actress’ death was caused due to accidental drowning in her room apartment 2201 Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel after losing consciousness, a fact corroborated by Dubai police and the actress’ post mortem reports.
