11 years after the Karan Johar-produced 'Dostana', featuring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra, released, its sequel with Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya will go on the floors in November. On Saturday, Kartik shared a picture of him holding the clapboard with the news that the romcom had kicked off in Chandigarh.
They were supposed to film in national capital as well, but the crew who were in Delhi trying to set things up for the upcoming schedule, found it hard to breathe because of increased air pollution.
“With visibility also being poor, the makers decided not to risk the health of the team and have pushed the Delhi schedule to a later date when the air quality improves. Kartik, Janhvi and Lakshya will be shooting in Chandigarh for a few more days, where they will be joined by the supporting cast. Closer to the weekend, they will move to Patiala for another week-long spell,” informs a source.
After Diwali this year, the air quality of Delhi and the NCR region has dropped to ‘dangerous’ levels in several places.
According to a World Health Organization (WHO) study, the capital is one of the worst of the 1600 cities in terms of air pollution. Earlier this month, Priyanka Chopra, wearing a mask, had taken to the social media to highlight the concern when filming there with Rajkummar Rao. “It’s so hard to shoot here right now that I can’t even imagine what it must be like to live here under these conditions,” she had said.
