Since few days speculations are rife that ‘Mr. India’ is on the remake. And recently director Ali Abbas Zaffar announced on social media that he'll be carrying the Mr.India franchise forward with a reboot.
However, Shekhar Kapur and lead actor Anil Kapoor had no idea about the same, its producer Boney Kapoor seems to have given his nod for the film.
It was filmmaker Shekhar Kapur who first reacted to the news report with a shock as he was not informed about the same, According to the director; he has moral rights over the film.
Reportedly, Boney gave his approval to the proposed project without taking his brother Anil into confidence.
A source informed that technically, Boney is in the right as he’s the producer of the film. He doesn’t need to consult anyone before giving his approval. However, not informing his brother who is also the leading man of the film might not have gone down well with the actor.
Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is not happy with this announcement, Check out her post here:
Ali Abbas Zafar also mentioned on his Twitter handle that the iconic film will be turned into a trilogy. The 1987 classic film, ‘Mr India’ starred Anil Kapoor and late actress Sridevi in the lead roles. The movie received positive response from the critics and audiences alike. So much so that it went on to become one of the iconic films in Bollywood.
