Arjun Kapoor is one of the few actors who are recognized to have the power to take jokes, and the nastiest of them for that matter, in themselves sportingly.
The actor, alongside Ranveer Singh, made headlines when they looked in a sensational roast by comic group All India Bakchod.
Lately, the actor, who's also known to be extremely self-aware and privy to his faults, seemed in a heartwarming interview with Film Companion.
During the path of it, when a viral spoof video dissecting trailer of his upcoming film 'Half Girlfriend' was brought up, the actor nonchalantly brushed it aside, reiterating he can read jokes on himself.
"I am very proud to be Boney Ka Launda. Why should I be apologetic about being such an amazing man's son? If it gets a few people laugh, so be it. It is somebody else's opinions on me. I never flaunt his [father's] tag. I have never proclaimed whose son I am, nor am I doing all my moving pictures with him. People are pigeonholing me for humor; I am okay with that. Aaj yeh bolenge, kal kuchh aur bolenge."
Further, making his stand clear, "I wouldn't be this relaxed about criticism if my box office successes were fewer.
For some cause, a majority [of moviegoers] seems to like my films. I don't negate things that people have to say about me, unless there's an agenda or hits below the belt. There is a way to criticize. You figure out people's motives after a few films.
He continued, If I am being reviewed for my surname, I can read through it. Eventually, you can't take things heart."
'Half Girlfriend,' also starring Shraddha Kapoor and helmed by Mohit Suri, is slated to release on May 19.
