Abhay Deol recently started the much-needed debate about fairness products that were propagating totally incorrect messages to viewers. He shared a Facebook post which had pictures of several Bollywood celebrities who have been associated with brands that promote fairness products.
While that was followed by Sonam Kapoor replying to him and getting slammed for the same, Priyanka Chopra has also spoken up about her stint while she endorsed a fairness cream a while back.
She added, " I endorsed a fairness cream many years ago, for about 12 months, and then I realised that's not like how I felt. After that I never endorsed fairness creams ".
However, this is not the first time that the 'Baywatch' actress has spoken up about endorsing fairness products.
In past PeeCee said, " I got swayed into doing it," she says, "but then I realised it made me feel like I did as a kid - I used to try all those products until I became Miss India. " Did she wish she had lighter skin? She nods. " It really works on your psyche, man. We don't realise it, but it does. I was the darkest, so in jest, my family called me kaali [black girl], and I never really understood how much that affected me until I was a teenager. "
Finally, someone got honest about why they advertised these misleading products and expressed regret doing it. Way to go, PeeCee!
On the work front, PC busy with the promotion of her upcoming Hollywood movie Baywatch and reportedly will sing 3 Bollywood movies soon.
