Emma Stone dethrones Jennifer Lawrence in Forbes’ 2017 Highest Paid Actresses list; Deepika finds no place in top 10
Forbes has released their latest list of the highest paid actresses in the world, and to much of our surprise, it was Emma Stone, who topped the list, dethroning last year’s topper Jennifer Lawrence.
Well, winning an Oscar can definitely push some momentum towards you, won’t it? As you are aware, Emma Stone had won the Academy Award this year for her lovely performance in La La Land, and that makes her one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood right now.
Emma Stone has earned $26 million over the year. She will be next seen in The Battle of the Sexes that also stars Steve Carell, with the early buzz revealing that it could score her another Oscar nomination.
Though she is still in the top 10 list, Jennifer Lawrence, sadly, has dropped two notches below and ends up at the 3rd position. The failure of Passengers might have affected her numero uno position. She had earned $24 million from over the year. The second position is taken up by another Jennifer – Jennifer Anniston, who got $25.5 million.
Interestingly, Deepika Padukone who found a place in the previous list of Forbes thanks to her involvement in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, is out of the top 10.
Neither did Priyanka Chopra find a place here, but then since she is considered as a television actress there, due to Quantico, we have to wait for their TV actresses list. In fact, no Asian actresses made it to the top 10 list.
Meanwhile, others in the list were Melissa McCarthy at the fourth position with $18 million, followed by Mila Kunis ($15.5 million). Emma Watson and Charlize Theron were tied up for the sixth position ($14 million).
Amy Adams rounded up the list at the 10 position with earnings of $11.5 million. Next week, Forbes will release their list of top 10 highest paid actors.
