While Virat Kohli’s newest fan Charulata Patel will preserve the note and the tickets she has received from the Team India captain for her entire life (her granddaughter Anjali Patel has even pasted Virat Kohli’s loving note on her WhatsApp DP), Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s die-hard fan, Divyang Shroff on Sunday decided to wear a special shirt, which has all the glorious moments of Dhoni on the field. Incidentally, Dhoni turned 38 on Sunday.
Fan Divyang Shroff flaunted a special shirt celebrating Dhoni’s achievements
This Sunday, Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned 38. To celebrate the occasion Divyang Shroff, a die-hard fan and friend of Mahendra Singh Dhoni wore a special T-shirt highlighting the cricketer’s achievements, which he also sported at a World Cup game in England.
Shroff says, “I absolutely love the Ranveer Singh style of dressing. I had seen him wear a retro Bollywood suit for an award function and that stayed in my head. When I decided I am going for the WC, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
After contacting several designers finally Nicky, a celebrity designer in Bandra said he would make it for me. We spent a couple of days together planning and conceptualising how we would do this. It took six odd hours for the final part to decide which photo came where and how his face shouldn’t be cut and more. I made Nicky go nuts with the perfection I wanted and he was more than happy to do it, seeing the passion I had to get this done.” Shroff wore this shirt when he was at the World Cup ground recently. “Well, I did message the pictures to Mahi bhai and Sakshi. They really liked it. I wore it for the first World Cup game — India vs South Africa at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton. Wearing the shirt at the stadium was crazy. I never expected so much attention. Random people would come where I was sitting and ask me for a picture, people even asked if I could sell it to them or had extra shirts to sell and the photographers kept capturing it. It was unreal," he reminisces. “I went to England only to watch Mahi bhai play his last World Cup. Could not have missed this big moment,” Shroff said on his return.
