Did you know Aishwarya Rai continued to dance for ‘Dola Re Dola’ despite bleeding ears?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit matching steps in the iconic song from ‘Dola Re Dola’ from ‘Devdas’ left a lasting impression.
The enthusiasm with which the duo danced will be remembered for years. However here’s a little trivia about the song. Apparently Aishwarya Rai’s ears were bleeding due to heavy earrings that she was wearing as part of her traditional attire, but the actress didn’t let the injury come in the way of her performance. Aishwarya completed the shoot of the song successfully, without expressing her pain.
‘Dola Re Dola’ was choreographed by Saroj Khan and was set against the backdrop of Durga Puja celebrations.
Aishwarya as Parvati and Madhuri as Chandramukhi tried to perfect their act with several re-takes. ‘Dola Re Dola’ involved several Kathak and Bharatnatyam steps. Saroj Khan earned a National Award for creating those captivating dance moves.
Even before ‘Devdas’ released in July 2002, rumours were rife that Madhuri Dixit was expecting her first child while shooting for ‘Dola Re Dola’.
However she was not pregnant then but had welcomed her first born Arin, more than a year later in March 2003.
