Diana Penty and Badshah to recreate Raveena Tandon's THIS 1996 hit song for Khandaani Shafakhana
Sonakshi Sinha is all set to star in her second film of the year, Khandaani Shafakhana, after Karan Johar's Kalank.
The upcoming comedy drama dropped its trailer a few days ago and the film will also see rapper Badshah making his acting debut. The rapper-composer plays a Punjabi singer in the film. Apart from the two, Khandaani Shafakhana also features Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in pivotal roles. The film is slated to hit the theatres next month and the film's trailer has largely received a positive reaction.
In the latest addition to the film, the makers are now planning to recreate the song “Shehar Ki Ladki” from 1996 film Rakshak which starred Raveena Tandon, reported Mumbai Mirror.
Suniel Shetty starred in the original song alongside Raveena, but the remake will feature Badshah and Diana Penty who has been roped in specially for the song.
As per the report, the song will be shot today and tomorrow at a studio in Mumbai.
A source told the tabloid, “Unlike the original track, which was filmed outdoors—from a railway station to a bridge the modern-day rendition is a conventional party number in a pub." The song will also include a rap portion which will be sung by Badshah. The comedy drama's trailer saw Sonakshi essaying the role of a Punjabi girl from Hoshiyarpur in the film. This drama saga is all about taboos around sex. The film will the theatres on July 26.
