Dia Mirza recently admitted that ‘Sanju’ was one of the best films of her career and that she is grateful to Rajkumar Hirani for giving her a chance to be a part of it.
The actress said that it had been a couple of years since she had faced the camera before shooting for ‘Sanju’, so she was understandably nervous at the beginning.
The film starred Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. The 2018 film was based on actor Sanjay Dutt’s life.
Dia said the role came to her at an important part in her life and gave her a chance to portray the character with sensitivity.
Recalling the day before she faced the camera for the first time, the actress said that although she felt nervous in the beginning, Ranbir and Hirani made sure she was comfortable. Dia played the role of Dutt’s wife Maanayata in the film.
In other news, there were reports that Dia and R Madhavan’s mega 2001 hit ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ may soon get a sequel.
It was reported that the makers were in the process of completing the script and would soon make an announcement. The original also starred Saif Ali Khan and Anupam Kher.
