Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan will be directed by David Dhawan in the remake of Coolie No 1.
Ever since the news of Varun Dhawan stepping in the shoes of Govinda for the remake of Coolie No 1 has come out, all the movie buffs have expressed their excitement on social media for this comic caper.
While we all know that Varun Dhawan will be paired opposite Sara Ali Khan and the film will be directed by father David Dhawan, who also helmed the original one, here are some more updates, which will make your wait for the film harder.
The latest reports suggest that on April 24, during Varun Dhawan's birthday, all Dhawan family including his girlfriend Natasha Dalal, will announce this project in a special event.
Just like Judwaa 2, the makers of the Coolie No 1 remake are recreating two iconic songs from the film, which are Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha and Husn Hai Suhana. The producers have said that they will not remix these songs as they are still popular today among the masses.
Talking about Varun's character, we might not see him in the Coolie uniform like the original one because in today's times, no coolie wears red and white uniform and instead prefers jeans and t-shirts.
Also, Varun will not spend maximum time on the platform, as Govinda did in the original one. The comedy situations will be placed outside the station once his profession gets established. Recently, when Varun was asked about this film, he said that the script has just been locked and it's a challenge for him to make his role memorable. Well, we hope just like Judwaa 2, even this remake strikes the chord with the audience.
Meanwhile, the actor is currently busy promoting his big-budget film Kalank, which is set to hit the screens tomorrow. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha.
Along with the varied hues of love, the period drama will also highlight the trials and tribulations of love with the spotlight on communal tensions. Presented by Fox Star Studios, the film is produced by Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta, and co-produced by Fox Star Studios.
