Bollywood films sometimes take a lot of inspiration from real life incidents. Bombay 90's is a movie about the Police and the Underworld fights. Director Ashok Nanda recreates the stories of Feroz Kokani, who is key aide of Dawood Ibrahim, shooter Rauf Raja and the shooting of music mogul Gulshan Kumar. In 1997, Gulshan Kumar was shot dead outside the Andheri Jiteshwar Shiv temple. This part of the movie has been shot in the exact same location.
