Bollywood stars often remain under the constant scrutiny of the public. For every move of theirs, actors are criticized. Be it for gaining weight or wearing a certain outfit in public, many of the actors become a soft target of social media trolls. Speaking of this, one of the most versatile and talented stars of Bollywood, Arjun Kapoor hasn’t had it easy from the start. Recently, Arjun opened up about his weight loss journey in an Instagram post where many of the stars from Bollywood lauded his determination and grit.
However, despite penning down his hard work in the aptest way, Arjun was subjected to social media trolling by many people for his weight.
In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Arjun opened up about all the trolling and criticism that comes his way. The Namastey England actor mentioned that everyone who has gone through the weight loss process, know that it is extremely hard and hence, the only difference is that he is in the public eye. Arjun also added that films add to the illusion that actors look a certain way. But not many times it is shown that a lot of hard work goes behind making a star look like that on screen.
Arjun said, “The big screen gives you an illusion of fitness and what the world should be like, as everyone looks like models on screen. But that is not real beyond a point.
A lot of effort, money and time go into looking that way. It’s important to be healthy. If you can’t encourage and be supportive, you have no right to put people down for trying to be better healthwise, forget aesthetic-wise. Iski shakl aisi hai, height waisi hai, patla hai, mota hai... tum apne aap ko dekh lo yaar.” Arjun also mentioned that millions of people go through the same journey every day but just are not in the public eye as he is.
A while back, when Arjun shared on social media about his weight loss journey, his sister Anshula applauded her brother for being consistent over the years.
The star is gearing up to step into the shoes of Sadashiva Rao Bhau in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s period drama, Panipat. Based on the third battle of Panipat, the film will also star Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt, Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure and Mohnish Bahl. Panipat will hit the screens on December 6, 2019.
