Anushka Sharma to play the lead in Shree Narayan Singh's Jasmine?
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh has earned a lot of appreciation for his debut film, that stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles.
With a strong social message of proper sanitation facilities in rural areas, the film gained immense love and respect from the audience. Now as per the report, Shree's Mukambika Pictures and Prernaa Arora’s Kriarj Entertainment is teaming up for the women-centric film, which titled, 'Jasmine - story of a leased womb'.
If sources to be believed, this strong women-centric film will star Anushka Sharma in the lead role.
The same source says, The makers are quite keen to rope in versatile actress Anushka Sharma to play the titular character. Shree Narayan Singh feels that Anushka is a strong performer and she can do full justice to the role.
Sources revealed that Anushka is Shree’s first choice and he will soon meet her and give her a complete narration.
Talking about the same with Singh, he said, "Jasmine is the journey of a girl from her youth to motherhood, of eternal love between a mother and a child. I have always wanted to work on a woman-centric film and I’m able to do so now."
However, Shree refused any such developments and said casting will happen only after a director comes on board.
"I haven’t even met Anushka or spoken to her. I have just announced my film. First thing I need to do is to lock a director for the project. The casting will be decided later," says Singh.
Well, Anushka is currently busy shooting for Aanand L Rai’s next with SRK and Katrina. Anushka’s next home production ‘Pari’ starring herself in the lead is set to release in 2018.
Shree Narayan Singh is busy with 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', his next film with Shahid Kapoor in the lead. The film is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
