Ananya Panday, who made her Bollywood debut alongside Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria in Karan Johar’s 'Student Of The Year 2', turns 21 today.
The actress will bring in her birthday on the sets of her second film, 'Pati Patni Aur Woh'.
“I was actually supposed to fly down to the US, but it turned out to be a working birthday for me. I'll be shooting for a song till midnight and expecting Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar to surprise me. I've been dropping hints for days, even sashaying around the sets in a crown and a sash which reads, ‘It’s my birthday’. They better have a plan ready, else I'll be disappointed,” she said sounding far younger than her years. She goes on to reveal that since she was a child, she would start a countdown to her big day as soon as the month started and wait for the day when she could go to school in a new and colourful dress to distribute chocolates.
She goes on to share that every birthday party of hers had a theme, be it Halloween, Zoo or Adventure.
She also had a lot of pool parties because she loves to swim. Prod her on the gifts that she has received over the years, and she says her favourite are her two dogs Astro and Fudge that came from papa Chunky and mom Bhavana. “I got my first dog on my seventh birthday and second one last year. I will be getting another on my 30th birthday. My dogs are the favourite birthday presents till date,” she beams. Her birthday wishes include being happy forever. She’s happy with the way her career is going at the moment and wants to work with her dream directors, Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Zoya Akhtar, Shakun Batra, Ayan Mukerji, among others someday.
At multiple occasions, she’s spoken about her crush on Kartik, who has recently parted ways with Sara Ali Khan.
What’s their dynamic on the sets? “It’s a lot of fun, Kartik is my best friend. We are always cracking jokes and pulling each other’s legs. I believe when there is genuine friendship between two people, it translates on screen,” she states, pointing out that the actor has been really helpful all through the shoot of the film. “I'm new to the industry so often ask him for advice.”
Once she wraps up with her work commitment, Ananya flies off to the US on November 7.
“I’ve been waiting to turn 21 so I can be as crazy as I want. I will be staying with friends there and since I will be legally of age, I can have a real blast,” she exults. She will be meeting her bestie, Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana, who is studying at the acting institute. “It’s been a while,” she sighs, excitedly looking forward to the reunion.
