Prithviraj is set to hit the screens during the festive weekend of Diwali in 2020. While we are super kicked about this venture, there will be a fight for the screens as Kangana Ranaut's Dhaakad is also coming on the same period, which means there is one more box office clash in 2020.
Interestingly, Akshay Kumar's Housefull 4 is locking horns with Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar's Saand Ki Aankh on this Diwali.
Talking about this venture, Akki's film will be based on the life warrior Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay said, “It is truly an honour that I will be playing the role of one of the most fearless and courageous kings of India, Prithviraj Chauhan. As a nation, we should always celebrate our heroes and immortalize what they did to propagate the values that Indians lived by. Prithviraj is our attempt to bring to light his valour and daredevilry. Prithviraj was the only person standing in front of a merciless nemesis and the bravery he showed, made him a true Indian hero, an inspiration for generations and a legend. So this announcement coming on my birthday has indeed made it more special for me.” Prithviraj is being directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi who helmed the biggest television epic Chanakya – based on the life and times of the most influential political strategist of India and the multiple award-winning Pinjar.
On the other hand, Kangana's action-thriller is directed by Razy Ghai.
The Director revealed that there are plans in place to shoot the film in Thailand, pockets of Europe, mainly Budapest and Prague, and in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. One schedule of the film will be shot in North India and the details will be worked out once Kangana finishes work on Panga. Produced by Sohail Maklai productions and Asylum films; the film is set to go on floors by early 2020.
