Diwali 2019 at Bachchans was a LIT affair. However, by the end of the bash, an unfortunate incident took place.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's manager's lehenga caught fire and she suffered major burns. Reportedly, Shah Rukh Khan who was among the last ones to leave the bash came to her rescue and suffered a few minor burns himself. However, reports now state that it was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who actually her manager Archana Sadanand's life by her swift action.
A report in Times of India states that it was due to Aishwarya's presence of mind that Archana was saved.
As her lehenga caught fire, Aishwarya quickly ripped off Archana's clothes so that fire is off her body and then it was Shah Rukh Khan who removed his Sherwani to cover up Archana. A friend of Archana was quoted saying, "While SRK did indeed jump into the fray to help Archana Sadanand by taking off his sherwani and got involved in the process too - I felt if it wasn’t for Aishwarya’s presence of mind the situation could have been much much worse for her— the fire was flaring up real quick and if she didn’t rip off Archana’s clothes like she did, to limit the damage - things could have turned out very different and graver than it is." Well, whoever be the hero, it is a relief that someone's life was saved. This incident supposedly took place at around 3 am on Monday morning and Archana was rushed to the hospital soon after. Reportedly, she is under observation now.
